Edward Chao is a Taiwanese Canadian artist based in Chicago, studying photography and filmmaking at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). His work often incorporates architectural elements that have patterns and symmetry while striving for a minimalistic look. He is highly influenced by the deadpan concept and aesthetic and enjoys shooting on overcast days to create a monochromatic look.
